FITNESS SIMPLIFIED

I love fitness buzz words.   Typically they are great sounding phrases, everyone uses, yet they do not have any scientific evidence to back up their claims.   BUT they make the person using them, sound smart.  I had a client recently tell me they wanted to target their “brown fat”.   First of all I don’t care if it’s brown fat, white fat (that is an actual kind) or mauve fat (I made that one up) your body isn’t going to  get rid of it, until it wants too, and that comes after you do the right things for a long enough period of time.

There are 4 basic different kinds of fat that you have on your body.  1. Essential Body Fat (Man 3%, Woman 9-12%) 2. Brown Fat (mainly found in the back between your shoulder blades…. Unless your Igor from Frankenstein you probably don’t have to worry about this one) 3. Visceral Fat (if you’re under 15% body fat or a woman you probably don’t have any)

If you are a competitor NUMBER FOUR is the one you want to get rid of, and it is….. Subcutaneous Fat.  So how do you do it?  How do you get rid of that last bit of body fat holding on for dear life?  CHANGE EVERYTHING, AND TAKE EVERY FAD SUPPLEMENT YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON!

I had a client WHO IS SHREDDED ask me “you think I should use the 10 minute protocol?”  I was like seriously “How about you don’t eat a loaf of banana bread…. Start there…”  This particular person is VERY intelligent and very dedicated, but she overthinks everything!

So many competitors suffer from what I call paralysis by analysis.  They know so much!  But so much of it, over complicates the process by causing competitors to focus on meaningless details all the while missing the big picture.

I love simplification.   I think a great educator can boil down the facts making complex hard to understand problems and challenges, into easy to understand concepts that form the steps, that lead to success.
