It Doesn’t Fit In My Box
The other day I had an intense conversation with a trainer who thought one of my new clients should be eating different food than I have on her plan. The particular client’s goal is to loose over 100 pounds. The trainer is very smart when it comes to nutrition but apparently not smart when it comes to reality.
I have been a trainer for 97 years and I am still amazed at how most people are so out of touch with the expectations they have of themselves and other people. I wish I could wave my magic wand and my client would automatically like cauliflower and fresh cod. But the truth is my client doesn’t even know what cauliflower is…. “Cali…..Flower…. is that some kind of flower native to California?”
Before you can walk you have to crawl…. We know this but in reality the step that comes before a crawl is SLEEP. A large majority of the American population is ASLEEP when it comes to fitness and nutrition. Their idea of a good healthy meal is a Diet Coke and slice of supreme pizza (because it contains the FOUR BASIC FOOD GROUPS).
While nutrition experts are trying to wake the overweight majority up with an ice cold glass of fluoride free, distilled, reverse osmosis water bottled only in glass….. I am trying to keep myself and my clients out of McDonald’s.
I love health but lets be realistic if you cringe at the thought of eating a banana you’re probably not going to eat a salmon shake if I put it on your diet.
